When it was such a hard year...

 I need to reflect back on these things when I'm feeling stressed.   

This year was HARD.   And I was DREADING reading course evaluations but I know I needed to read their feedback.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love these kids?  (Click images to enlarge)











Note to self:

  • Students would like the following for next year:
  • More stories about slavery
  • More crime stories
  • Add actual comic books to class library
  • Do writing about nature while IN nature
  • More true life stories
  • More Jason Reynolds and other authors of color

    LOVE it! Today Hubby and I are heading to Home Depot to get yet another shelf in the classroom - this one will be dedicated to BIPOC voices, social justice and advocacy ONLY. The kids are asking for more!!
